Together with a Memorial Plaque named to Charles Henry Smith; a bronze Rising Sun hat badge (KC), by K.G.Luke, Melbourne; The pair of medals and the Memorial Plaque, which has been silver-plated, are in a small timber frame under glass, and the frame is loose.

Charles Henry Smith, coalminer, age 23, born at Erskineville, Sydney, NSW; Enl.08Mar1916 at RAS Showground, Sydney, NSW; Emb.24Aug1916; various punishments for being asleep on duty or AWL; to France 05Dec1916; TOS 30Bn 29Dec1916; KIA 30Sep1917 at France; Buried at Hooge Crater Cemetery, Zillebeke near Ypres.

Note: Charles Henry Smith's real name was George Thomas Maurice May, but he enlisted and served under the name of Charles Henry Smith.
