| Lot description: ISLAMIC, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Artuqids (Mardin). al-Muzaffar Da'ud II, AH 769-778 / AD 1368-1376. Fals (Bronze, 16 mm, 1.17 g, 11 h), Pictorial type, Mardin. Sun and lion to right; above, 'lā ilāha illā [Allāh Muḥammad rasūl Allāh]' ('There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah' in Arabic). Rev. Within a trefoil, name and titles of the king which seems to be 'al-sulṭān al-malik al-Muẓaffar' ('Sultan [and] King al-Muzaffar' in Arabic), followed by 'khallada Allāh mulkahū' ('May Allah perpetuate his kingdom' in Arabic).
