The bold details of the host and countermark provide for a gratifying viewing experience. | Lot description: British Honduras British Colony. George III Counterstamped 6 Shillings 1 Penny ND (1810-1818) AU55 NGC, KM2, Prid-2 (different host). Incuse crowned GR in oval counterstamp (AU Standard) on a Mexico Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1818 Mo-JJ. Rarely is this already fleeting British Honduras countermarked coinage offered in such prime condition. The stamp, paying loyalty to George III, is well above-average for the issue and the host is very attractive in-hand, wearing a cabinet tone that glistens from original luster beneath and touting practically complete detail from minimal circulation.
