The Triumvirs. Octavian. Autumn 32-summer 31 BC. AR Denarius (19.5mm, 4.02 g, 3h). Uncertain mint in Italy (Rome?). Bare head left / Venus standing right, seen from the back and with drapery covering only her thighs, holding transverse scepter in left hand and helmet in right, resting left elbow on column to left; to left, shield with star motif set on ground, leaning against column; CAESAR DIVI • F across field. CRI 396; RIC I 250b; RSC 63; BMCRR Rome 4334 = BMCRE 601; BN 24–5; CNR V 414 (this coin). Lightly toned with iridescence, light porosity and hairlines. Near EF.
