The Aegis was a mythological symbol often associated with Zeus and Athena in Greek mythology. It was a shield or protective device, sometimes adorned with the head of a Gorgon or an image of Medusa. The Aegis was considered a powerful artifact, offering protection from dangers and calamities, and was often employed in battles or conflicts to empower and shield the bearers. In the Iliad, the Aegis is described as a sort of weapon or armor worn by Zeus to demonstrate his power and protect his allies. Over time, the significance of the Aegis evolved and became associated with other gods and heroes, but its role as a symbol of protection remained constant. Starting price: 50 EUR |
