Mark Antony and Octavia, 40-35 BC. 'As' (Bronze, 25 mm, 11.28 g, 7 h), 'Fleet coinage', heavy series. L. Sempronius Atratinus, augur and designated consul. Uncertain mint in Achaea (?), late summer-autumn 38. [M ANT IMP TERT] COS DE[SIG ITER ET TER III VIR R P C] Conjoined bare head of Mark Antony and draped bust of Octavia to right. Rev. [L ATRATIN]VS AVGVR COS DE[SIG] Galley sailing right; above prow, lituus; below, A and head of Medusa (?). Amandry, Bronze I, Series 1D. CRI 282. RPC I 1456. Sydenham 1264. Rare and unusually attractive for this difficult issue. Some deposits and light cleaning scratches, otherwise, good fine.
