| Lot description: KYRENAICA. Kyrene. Circa 525-480 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 10 mm, 2.00 g, 12 h), Attic standard. Silphion fruit. Rev. Incuse square bisected by a vertical line, with the left portion further divided by two lines into three compartments, and the right portion divided by a single line into two. BMC 7-8 var. (differing reverse incuse). Buttrey, Coins, 46-48. BMFA -. SNG Copenhagen -. Extremely rare and unusually attractive for this very difficult early issue.
