Theodosius II. AD 402-450. AV Solidus (20.5mm, 4.48 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck AD 425-429. Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield / Theodosius II and Valentinian III enthroned facing, both nimbate and wearing consular robes, both holding mappa and cruciform scepter; star above; CONOB. RIC X 239; Depeyrot 79/1; Biaggi –. Lightly toned, trace obverse die rust, minor mark, light scratch. EF.
