Lot description: Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.19 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa autumn AD 116-August AD 117. Laureate bust right, wearing aegis, with bare chest showing, wearing balteus; globe below / Felicitas standing left, holding caduceus and cornucopia. RIC II 333 var. (bust type); Woytek 570tt+; RSC 192 var. (same). Toned, some underlying luster, flan crack. EF. Very rare with this bust type. Woytek listed four examples. From the Wild Rose Collection.
