Lot description: Titus. As Caesar, AD 69-79. AR Denarius (18mm, 2.97 g, 12h). Uncertain mint in Asia Minor (Ephesus?). Struck under Vespasian, AD 76. Laureate head right / Eagle standing left on low cippus, wings open, head right. RIC II.1 1481; RPC II 1457; RSC 61. Lovely old toning, light marks, hairline flan crack. Near EF. Well struck with fresh dies. Die engraver's guide circle still complete on reverse. Wonderful portrait. From the GS Collection.
