Lot description: JUDAEA, Ascalon. Caracalla. 198-217 CE. BI Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 14.56 g, 12h). Struck 215-217 CE. Laureate head right / Eagle standing facing on palm frond, head and tail left, with wings displayed, holding wreath in beak; in exergue, dove right with olive branch in beak. Prieur 1654; Sofaer 177.
