Lot description: ISLANDS off ATTICA, Aegina. Circa 550-530/25 BC. AR Stater (22mm, 12.28 g). Sea turtle, head in profile, with heavy collar and row of dots down its back / Rough incuse square with irregular lines. Holloway, Archaic, Group A, unlisted dies; Meadows, Aegina, Group Ia; cf. Milbank Period I, pl. I, 1; HGC 6, 423; Selinus Hoard 47 (same obv. punch). Granular surfaces, struck with somewhat worn obverse die. VF. Well centered on a broad flan.
