Julia Domna. Augusta, AD 193-217. AV aureus (20 mm; 7,18 g). Rome mint, struck AD 215-217. Diademed and draped bust right, seen from front, hair waved in ridges and bound at the back of head / Frontal view of of the domed Temple of Vesta, surmounted by standing statue and with seated statue within; Julia Domna and Vestal Virgin standing vis-à-vis to left and right, holding incense boxes and dropping incense over a lighted altar between them, two more Vestal Virgins flanking, observing the seremony and accompanied by young Caracalla and Geta. Mount removed at 12 o'clock and small traces of edge filing. Surfaces a bit matte and with scattered tiny marks.
