ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR tetradrachm (32 mm; 16,65 g). New Style coinage. Mened..., Epigen..., and Philo..., magistrates. Struck 135/4 BC. Head of Athena Parthenos right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with protomes of four horses above the visor and a Pegasos in flight above / Owl standing right on amphora, head facing; A-ӨE above ME-NEΔ/EΠI/ΓENO/ΦΙΛΟ (magistrates' names) in five lines across field; to left, Asklepios standing left, holding staff on which a serpent is coiled around; Γ on amphora, ΓΛ below; all within wreath. Struck with a slightly rusty obverse die and small traces of horn silver on reverse.
