Severus Alexander, as Augustus (AD 222-235). AR denarius (21mm, 3.11 gm, 1h). NGC MS★ 5/5 - 5/5. Rome, ca. AD 231-235. IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG, laureate bust of Severus Alexander right, drapery visible on left shoulder / PROVIDENTIA AVG, Providentia standing facing, head left, grain ears lowered in outstretched right hand over full modius at feet to left, cornucopia cradled in left arm. RIC IV.II 250. A breathtaking masterpiece featuring radiant, glowing surfaces paired with elegant stone-grey tones.
