| Lot description: Ancients P. Plautius Hypsaeus (ca. 60 BC). AR denarius (20mm, 3.80 gm, 6h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 3/5, light graffiti. Rome. P•YPSAE•, draped bust of Leuconoe right, wearing pendant earring, pendant necklace, hair banded and drawn into chignon at back of head; S•C above dolphin swimming downwards behind / C•YPSAE COS / PRIV-CEPIT, Jupiter in quadriga galloping left, reins in right hand, hurling thunderbolt with left. Crawford 420/2c. A beautiful piece featuring deep cabinet toning, with pilot light blue delicately hugging the devices, creating a stunning visual contrast.
