Lot description: Ancients PERGAMENE KINGDOM. Eumenes I (263-241 BC). AR tetradrachm (29mm, 17.04 gm, 1h). NGC Choice VF 5/5 - 4/5, Fine Style. Laureate head of Philetaerus right / ΦIΛETAIΡOY, Athena seated left, left elbow resting on grounded shield decorated with gorgoneion motif, with wreath in outstretched right hand, transverse spear in beyond; ivy leaf in outer left field, A in inner left field, bow in right field. SNG France 5, 1610-1615. The holder notes that this coin is also attributed to Attalus I. Struck on a dolphin grey flan, this coin features a handsomely rendered Fine Style portrait with a very full robust portrayal of Philetaerus.
