| Lot description: Ancients BRUTTIUM. Croton. Ca. 400-325 BC. AR stater (23mm, 7.54 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 3/5 - 3/5, Fine Style. Head of Hera Lacinia facing, turned slightly right, hair parted in center and swept to either side, wearing stephane ornamented with palmettes flanked by griffins / ΚΡΟΤ-ΩΝΙΑΤΑΝ, Heracles reclining left on rock, leaning on club draped with lion skin, cantharus in outstretched right hand; bow below. HN Italy 2167. A beautiful piece in hand, featuring a splendid portrait struck on a dazzling obverse that boasts a slight cartwheel luster, complemented by an all-over attractive toning.
