Ancients
BRUTTIUM. Croton. Ca. 530-500 BC. AR stater (26mm, 7.80 gm, 12h). NGC VF 5/5 - 3/5, brushed. ϘPO (partially retrograde), ornamented tripod in relief set on beaded, decorated with coiled serpents facing one another on rim; serpents rearing between legs of tripod facing one another, dotted border on thick raised band / ϘPO (partially retrograde), incuse tripod; crab right, seen from above, striated border on incuse band. HN Italy 2078 var. (no serpents). A stunning display of cabinet toning, adorned with rich hues of magenta and phthalo blue, creating a visually captivating palette on the surface.
