Barbarous Nerva Æ Dupondius. After the Rome mint issues of AD 96 and 103-111. IMP NERVA CAE AVG P M [TR P] COS II P P (sic), radiate head to right / S P Q III VI OPPINCPI (sic), Spes advancing to left, holding flower and raising skirt; S-C (reversed) across fields. For possible obv. prototype, cf. RIC II 55ff; for possible rev. prototype, cf. RIC II 520 (Trajan). 12.59g, 26mm, 6h.

Very Fine; some pitting.

A hybrid barbarous imitation presumably copied from the obverse of a dupondius of Nerva and the reverse of a bronze of Trajan.
