ΤΜΩΛOC, bearded head of mountain-god Tmolos to right, wearing wreath of ivy leaves and grapes / [CAPΔIANΩΝ], Dionysos enthroned to left, holding kantharos. GRPC Lydia 306; BMC 78; de Luynes 2737. 5.90g, 21mm, 7h. Very Fine; spots of corrosion. Very Rare; seemingly only one other on CoinArchives. Tmolos (the namesake for Mount Tmolos) is described as the husband of Pluto (or Omphale) and father of the legendary Tantalus and also to have been the judge in the musical contest between Apollo and Pan (see Ovid, Metamorphoses XI.157).
