Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianus, Rome Mint, issued 241, (2.73 g), obv. radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. around PM TR P III COS II P P, Apollo seated to left holding branch and resting arm on lyre, (S.8680, RIC 114, RSC 238); Thrace, Mesembria, Gordian III and Tranquillina, (A.D. 238-244), AE 20, (10.65 g), obv. Gordian III laureate draped and cuirassed bust to right facing Tranquillina draped bust to left, around AVT K M ANT GORDIANOC AVG CEB, TPANKVLLI/NA in exergue, rev. Apollo standing left, holding branch and lyre set on column to right, around MECAMBPIANWN, (cf.S.3798, BMC -, SNG Cop.663, Moushmov 3998). Nearly very fine - extremely fine and scarce.
