Lot description: Maximinus I, (A.D. 235-238), AE dupondius, Rome Mint, issued 235-6. (9.26 g), obv. radiate bust draped and cuirassed of Maximinus I to right, around MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Salus enthroned to left holding patera, feeding snake arising from altar, around SALVS AVGVSTI, S C in exergue, (S.8351, RIC 86, BMC 178). Greenish/black patina, fine, very scarce. Ex Dr V.J.A.
