Syria, Seleucid kingdom of Antiochos Hierax, (246-227 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.06 g), Lysimacheia Mint, obv. head of Antiochos I to right, rev. Apollo seated to left, on omphalos, holding arrow and resting on bow, to left BASILEWS, to right ANTIOXOY, ligated MB over monogram, (S.6918 var., SC 857 [R3], ACNAC Houghton [CSE] 675 [same dies], WSM 1620, HGC 9, 399d [R3]). Minor roughness, otherwise about extremely fine and extremely rare.

Ex CNG Triton III, 30 November 1999 (lot 1765 part).

Only a few known specimens and all come from the same pair of dies, two are in Coin Archives, the CSE coin referenced in SC, one in SCO (in the BN).
