Boiotia, Thebes, (395-338 B.C.), silver stater (12.17 g), Eu(w)ara magistrate, obv. Boiotian shield, rev. amphora in incuse concave field, across field to left EY and to right AP/A, grapes and wine in branch above, (cf.S.2398, BCD 568 [Triton IX p.105 [same reverse die] suggests 363-338 B.C.], Head 'Boeotia' -, Hepworth D3ii No.44 on list, BMC -, SNG Cop.-). Lightly toned, good very fine and extremely rare.

Ex CNG Auction Sale No 58, September 19, 2001 (lot 468), previously from BCD Colletion.
