Herennius Etruscus, also known as Quintus Herennius Etruscus Messius Decius, was a Roman prince and co-emperor for a short period during the mid-3rd century AD. He was the son of the Roman Emperor Decius.
In AD 251, Decius and his son Herennius Etruscus became joint emperors of the Roman Empire. This decision was made in response to the Gothic invasion of the empire. Decius took charge of the western provinces, while Herennius Etruscus was responsible for the eastern provinces. Their co-rule, however, was short-lived. In the same year, during the Battle of Abritus against the Goths, both Decius and Herennius Etruscus were killed. The death of the two emperors marked a significant defeat for the Roman Empire in its attempts to repel the invasions. Following their deaths, Decius' other son, Hostilian, briefly assumed the title of co-emperor before he died of the plague.
