BITHYNIA. Apamea. Caligula, 37-41. (Bronze, 30 mm, 10.19 g, 12 h). DIVÆ DRVSILLAE / IVLIAE AGRIPPINA Half length draped busts of Drusilla left facing, Iulia facing, and Agrippina Jr facing left. Rev. AGRIPPINA C CAESARIS AVG GERMANICI MATER C I C, D D Agrippina seated left, left, holding patera in right hand and scepter in left. RPC I, 2012.8 (this coin). Extremely rare, only eight examples known. Only two examples on coinarchives. Holed and with natural encrustations , otherwise, about very fine.



An extraordinary type depicting four renown women from the Julio-Claudian era. This is the only provincial coin to represent portraits of all three of Caligula's sisters .
