Lot description: CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 302-280 BC. Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.46 g, 8 h). Nude youth on horseback galloping to left, holding shield; to right, ΣΛ; below, ΦIΛΩN. Rev. TAPAΣ Taras riding dolphin to left above waves, his right arm outstretched [holding Nike who crowns him]. HGC 1, 815; HN Italy 964; Vlasto 685. Some surface roughness and light cleaning scratches, otherwise, very fine.
