Berk; ex- Artemide; ex Curtis L. Clay Collection. "Weighing in at nearly 40 grams, this behemoth of a sestertius was likely struck for use as a New Year's gift on January 1st of 69 AD, just two weeks before Galba's assassination. The reverse looks like it had a pin that went across it, and caused a unique circumstance of rusting on the reverse. A very impressive piece in-hand. New obverse die. Choice Good VF.
