| Lot description: BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 400-325 B.C. AR nomos. 7.67 gm. 21 mm. Head of Hera Lakinia facing slightly right, wearing necklace and stephane decorated with central palmette flanked by two griffins / Young Herakles (Herakles Epitrapezios, or 'Herakles at the table'), nude, reclining left on lion skin draped over rock, holding cup; quiver, bow, and club above, ME to left, bucranium below; KPOT-[ON-I-A]-T-A-Σ. HN Italy 2163. SNG Lloyd 615 (same dies). Gulbenkian 130 (same dies). Near Extremely Fine; with lovely lustrous iridescent toning; good metal; usual die-break on the obverse; on reverse, slight die shift and minor roughness at 12'.
