Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (25mm, 3.83 g, 6h). Class IIa. Constantinople mint. Struck 1294-1303. Half-length facing figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with six towers; sigla: B | Γ / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael, kneeling to left and right respectively, both wearing loros. DOC Class IIa 235-261 var. (unlisted sigla); PCPC 127 (sigla 11); SB 2396. Toned, a few edge splits, flan crack. VF. Clear sigla.
