EGYPT, Alexandria. Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ Drachm (35mm, 28.14 g, 12h). Dated RY 4 (AD 100/1). Laureate head right / Nilus reclining left on crocodile to right, holding a reed and cornucopia from which emerges a Genius; Iς above; L ∆ (date) in exergue. Köln 448; Dattari (Savio) 977; K&G 27.23 corr. (obv. legend with normal Σ, not lunate); RPC III 4134; Emmett 550.4. Blue-green patina over underlying brown, light roughness. Near VF.

The Greek numerals "Iς" to the right of the Genius indicate 16 cubits, the optimal flood level height of the Nile during inundation season.
