SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. First satrapy, 321-315 BC. AR Obol (9mm, 0.53 g, 1h). In the name of Philip III and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Uncertain mint 6A in Babylonia. Struck 318-316 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monograms in left field and below throne. Cf. SC Ad40.1 corr. (left field monogram; hemidrachm); cf. Price P166 corr. (same; hemidrachm); HGC 9, –. Find patina, some roughness and die wear. Good Fine. Unpublished as an obol.
