Justinian I the Great (AD 527-565). AV solidus (20mm, 4.43 gm, 6h). NGC MS 4/5 - 2/5, slight bend, brushed, clipped, graffito. Constantinople, 7th officina, ca. AD 545-565. D N IVSTINI-ANVS PP AVG, pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust of Justinian I facing, wearing pendilia, with globus cruciger in right hand, shield decorated with horseman motif in left / VICTORI-A AVGGG Z, Angel standing facing, with grounded staff surmounted by staurogram in right hand, globus cruciger in outstretched left; star in right field, CONOB in exergue.
