BAKTRIA, Local issues. Circa 285/3-280/78 BC. AR Drachm (14mm, 3.25 g, 6h). Local standard. Uncertain mint in the Oxus region. Helmeted head of Athena right / Eagle standing right, head left; above, kerykeion (caduceus) to right above grape cluster on vine. Taylor, Birds Group 3.6, 172 = CNG E-184, lot 74 (same obv. die); Nicolet-Pierre & Amandry –, but cf. 64; Bopearachchi, Sophytes –; SNG ANS –; SMAK pp. 64-70; HGC 12, –. Find patina, deposits, traces of die rust, small flaw on cheek. VF. Very rare.
