BAKTRIA, Local issues. Circa 285/3-280/78 BC. AR Drachm (13.5mm, 3.50 g, 6h). Local standard. Uncertain mint in the Oxus region. Helmeted head of Athena right / Eagle standing left, head right; above, grape cluster on vine. Taylor, Birds Group 3.3, 151 (dies D9/R9); Nicolet-Pierre & Amandry 52-6; Bopearachchi, Sophytes 11-2 var. (no grape cluster); SNG ANS 14 (same dies); SMAK pp. 64-70; HGC 12, 8. Iridescent toning, trace of porosity under tone, slight double strike on obverse. Good VF. Rare.
