Lot description: IONIA, Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 225-200 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30.5mm, 16.43 g, 1h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, monogram and head of horse left above monogram; maeander pattern in exergue. Vădan Group 2, dies 31/96; Price 2049; Mektepini 382 (same dies). Struck with worn obverse die. VF. Extremely rare, only two examples noted by Vădan, none in Pella, nor CoinArchives.
