Nero (54-68), Contorniate, Rome, late 4th century AD; Æ (g 25,76; mm 33); [IMP NER]O (?), laureate head r.; around, engraved dots, Rv. Victory advancing l., carrying wreath and palm; in field, S - C traces; around, engraved dots. Cfr. Alföldi, Kontorniat 545. Broken edge; riverine tone; very fine / fine. Rare type: made from a worn Nero sestertius, with all the devices and legends reengraved and the edge hammered. Fine.
