Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. Æ Sestertius (31mm, 26.82 g, 6h). Consecration issue. Rome mint. Sestertius Series 1, under Antoninus Pius, circa AD 140-141. Veiled and draped bust right, wearing hair bound in pearls on top of her head / Eagle flying upward to left, carrying Faustina, holding scepter and starry mantle over head. RIC III 1134; Beckmann dies daf2/E6; Banti 60 (same rev. die as illustration). Red cuprite and dark brown patina, rough, pitted surfaces, areas of smoothing. Good Fine.
