Constantine I. AD 307/310-337. Æ Follis (18mm, 2.76 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 320. Helmeted and cuirassed bust right / VOT XV FEL XX RP in three lines within wreath with large central jewel. RIC VII 219; RBC 324-5CI. Dark green-brown patina, extensive cleaning scratches. Near VF. Very rare. R5 in RIC (cites Vienna). Leu knew of five examples in 2023 when a number appeared from the Dr. L. Ramskold Collection in Leu Web Auction 25. Nice detail remaining in the feathered plume which appears to be the rarer of the two varieties from the limited number of examples known. Most known specimens of this issue are in relatively similar conditions.
