Lot description: Egypt, Alexandria Claudius, 41-54 Didrachm circa 42-43 (year 3), billon 18.30 mm., 3.39 g. ΤΙ ΚΛΑΥΔ ΚΑΙ ϹΕΒΑϹ ΓΕΡΜ Laureate head r.; in r. field, LΓ. Rev. ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑ Crossed cornucopias, each surmounted by Antonia and Octavia facing each other; between them, bust of Britannicus. RPC 5135.5 (this coin illustrated). Extremely rare, very few specimens known and the only didrachm series issued in Alexandria during the roman Empire, Good Fine. Privately purchased from Baranowsky. Sold with collector's ticket.
