Cr-443/1; CRI-9; Syd-1006; RSC-49. Obverse: Elephant advancing right, trampling upon horned serpent; Reverse: Emblems of the pontificate: simpulum, aspergillum, securis, and apex. Always a popular type, this example delivers a pleasingly detailed elephant and fully legible name "CAESAR" despite traces of the undertype visible on the obverse. A charming example struck on an oblong flan and retaining a hint of underlying luster.
