Cross crosslet set upon globus above two steps; in central medallion, crowned bust of John facing, wearing loros / Legend in five lines. DOC 7; SB 1792. Toned, clipped, doubling, minor die breaks, light scratch. VF.

This specimen does not perfectly conform to either DOC sub-designation of (a) with five pellets above and below the reverse inscription, or (b) with four. On this example, four pellets are found above and five below.

Highly interesting example which obviously is highly likely a contemporary imitation without the inscription of the emperor inside the circle and with specificly shaped edges. Very Rare.
