THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 450-430 BC. AR Hemidrachm (16mm, 2.88 g, 2h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos around neck, restraining forepart of bull left by band held around its head; TO below / Forepart of horse left; sandal below; all within incuse square. Lorber, Thessalian, Series 4, p. 138, 27c (O12/R17 – this coin); BCD Thessaly 178 (same obv. die); HGC 4, 459 (same obv. die as illustration). Lightly toned, test cut on obverse. Good VF.
