| Lot description: ISLAMIC. Circa AH 2nd-4th century / AD 8th-10th century. Seal (Lead, 34 mm, 20.42 g). Illegible Kufic inscription in six (?) lines on the obverse in the widely spaced angular script typical of the Umayyad and early ʿAbbasid period. The 2nd line seems to contain the word 'amīr al-muʾminīn' ('Commander of the Believers'). Fine. From an important collection of Byzantine and Islamic coins and seals, formed over the past 25 years.
