Justinian I, 527-565. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.33 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 527-538. D N IVSTINIANVS P P AVG Helmeted, diademed and cuirassed bust of Justinian I facing slightly to right, holding spear in his right hand and with a shield, decorated with a horseman spearing a fallen foe, over his left shoulder. Rev. VICTORIA AVGGG I / CONOB Angel standing facing, holding long linear cross in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left; in field to right, star. DOC 3i. MIB 5. SB 137. Bent flan and with a minor graffito on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
