Octavian and Divus Julius Caesar. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 2.35 g, 10 h), with Agrippa. A contemporary imitation from an irregular mint, after 38 BC. DIVOS•IVLIVS DIVI F Wreathed head of Divus Julius and bare head of Octavian vis-à-vis. Rev. [M•AG]RIPPA•COS / [DE]SIG in two lines. Cf. Babelon (Junia) 31, Crawford 534/2 and Sydenham 1330 (for prototype). Very rare. Some breaks in plating and the reverse struck slightly off center and with minor deposits, otherwise, about very fine.

Octavian and Divus Julius Caesar. Dupondius (Bronze, 30 mm, 20.39 g, 9 h), Lugdunum (as Copia), circa 36 BC. IMP CAESAR DIVI F DIVI IVLI Laureate head of Divus Julius Caesar, on the left, and bare head of Octavian, on the right; between them, palm frond. Rev. COPIA Prow decorated with dolphin to right; above, star on globe and meta. Giard 7. RPC I 515. SNG Copenhagen 689. An unusually attractive example of this usually poorly struck issue, perfectly centered and with two very attractive portraits. Minor deposits and with some corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

Julius Caesar, 49-44 BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 3.19 g, 3 h), a contemporary plated imitation, irregular mint, 49-48 BC. CAESAR Elephant walking right, trampling on horned serpent. Rev. Priestly implements: simpulum, aspergillum, securis with wolf's head at the top, and apex. Cf. Babelon (Julia) 9, Cohen 49, Crawford 443/1, RBW 1557 and Sydenham 1006 (for prototype). A very well made contemporary plated imitation. Minor breaks in plating and with a test cut on the edge, otherwise, very fine.

Head of Philip V of Macedon to right, wearing diademed royal Macedonian helmet adorned with two goat horns; behind, monogram of ROMA; below chin, Φ. Rev. Equestrian statue, holding branch, set to right on raised tablet inscribed PHILIPPVS; below horse, flower; in exergue, star (mark of value). Cf. Babelon (Marcia) 12, Crawford 293/1, RBW 1132 and Sydenham 551 (for prototype). Nicely toned. Light scratches and with some breaks in plating, otherwise, good very fine.
