Q. Fufius Calenus and Mucius Cordus, 68 BC. Denarius (Silver, 21 mm, 3.98 g, 6 h), Rome. HO -VIRT / KALENI Jugate heads of Honos, laureate, and Virtus, wearing crested helmet, to right. Rev. ITAL - RO / CORDI Italia, on the left, standing right, holding cornucopiae in her left hand and clasping right hands with Roma, on the right, standing left, holding fasces in her left hand and placing her right foot on globe; in field to left, winged caduceus. Babelon (Fufia and Mucia) 1. Crawford 403/1. RBW 1445. Sydenham 797. Well struck and of fine style, a lovely example. Minor banker's mark on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
