| Lot description: KINGS OF CAPPADOCIA. Ariarathes VI Epiphanes Philopator, circa 130-112/0 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.00 g, 12 h), a contemporary imitation, RY 15 = 116/5 BC. Diademed head of Ariarathes VI to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΡΙΑΡΑΘOV / EΠIΦAИOYΣ Athena standing front, head to left, holding Nike in her right hand and resting left on shield set on ground, spear held in the crook of her left arm; to outer left, Λ; to outer right, Δ; in exergue, EI. Cf. HGC 7, 820 and Simonetta 46 (for prototype). Struck in high relief and with an interesting portrait. Slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine. Privately acquired from L.
