PAMPHYLIA. Aspendos. Circa 400-380 BC. Stater (Silver, 25 mm, 10.94 g, 4 h). Two nude wrestlers, standing and grappling with each other. Rev. [ΕΣ]ΤFΕΔΙΙΥΣ Slinger standing right; to right, triskeles running left; all within dotted square border; around, five countermarks: (from left to right) eagle standing right; head to right; head to left, with hair tied at back; radiate head to left; and man-headed bull standing right with inscription above; all but the last within circular incuses, the last within a rectangular incuse. SNG Paris 54-6. Tekin Series 3. Struck from a worn obverse die and with a test cut on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
